Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Monday led three other governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to meet with two former Heads-of-State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) and Abdulsalami Abubakar in Minna, Niger State.
Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ifeanyi Ugwuwanyi (Enugu) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) were on the entourage of Mr Wike, the current governor of Rivers State
A close door meeting that took place at General Babangida’s residence lasted for an hour.

Eighteen-Eleven Media gathered that former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Sasuwan, Senator Kasim Imam, Senator Suleiman Nafsir and former Senator Lekenwo from River State were also at the meeting.
Wike and his entourage on arrival at Minna reportedly drove straight to the residence of General Abdulsalami from where he (Abdulsalami) led them to General Babangida’s residence.
Speaking with newsmen after the meeting, Ikpeazu said they were in Minna as part of the nationwide consultations ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He, however, did not say whether the consultation was for the presidential ambition of his counterpart, Wike who had earlier declared his intention to run for the presidency come 2023.
According to him, “I have come with my colleagues, the governors of Enugu, Oyo, River and some members of the National Assembly to consult with the former Heads-of-State and President and discuss national issues and the problems affecting our country.
