COACH Éric Sékou Chelle has named his 23-man Super Eagles squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, with the aim of securing victories to maintain their position in the race for the 2026 World Cup.
The squad features a blend of experience and youth, with key players like William Ekong, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen leading the charge.
The final list includes two NPFL players, Kayode Bankole and Papa Daniel Mustapha, demonstrating Coach Chelle’s commitment to recognizing talent within the domestic league.
Other notable inclusions in the squad include defenders Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielders Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, and Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi, and forwards Simon Moses, Samuel Chukwueze, and Sadiq Umar.
The squad is rounded out by Czech Republic-based defender Igoh Ogbu and Belgium-based forward Tolu Arokodare.
Nigeria will face group C leaders Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, 21 March before taking on Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo four days later.
