A suspected rapist who took advantage of a drunk 16-year-old girl and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her has been arrested.
The suspect, Gbenga Kolawole, 32, was caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim, both of whom live in the same area at Adubi, in Ewekoro, Ogun State, where the incident took place.
The girl was said to have drank into a state of stupor at a church anniversary held on 6 November, and was taken to a nearby bar shop by her mother, who locked her up therein, apparently to relax until she regained consciousness,
while she went back to continue with the church programme.
It was in the course of this that the suspect messed the girl up, the aftermath of which was his exposure and the eventual lodgement of the complaint to the Police at Ewekoro Division by the aggrieved girl’s mother.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, said in a statement, that the victim was taken to hospital for treatment, and the suspect was arrested for preliminary investigation.
