The U-23 team gunning for the Olympics beat Tanzania 2-0. The country advanced 3-1 on aggregate after an earlier 1-1 draw last week in Dar es Salaam.
Victory however did not come easy. It was goalless at half-time.
The Tanzanians even took the initiative in the second half and were on the offensive.
But all that changed when in the 59th minute, Ogunniyi Omojesu put Nigeria ahead from a well-taken free kick.
Makanjuola Success added the second for Nigeria from the penalty spot in the 69th minute to put the game beyond the reach of the Tanzanians.
