FORMER Anambra State governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr.Peter Obi has won the presidential election in a polling unit on Bourdillon; home to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The LP standard-bearer also recorded a similar feat in the polling unit inside the Kaduna State Government House.
Polling Unit 020, which is situated in Ikoyi, Lagos, was won by the LP which received 121 votes. The APC came in second with 49 votes, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured 11 votes, placing it in third position.
Bourdillon is a renowned highbrow location in Lagos State, mainly popular for being home to Tinubu. The neighbourhood is a luxury hub that enjoys sustained property development. This makes the area largely attractive for residents and one of the best real estate locations in Lagos.
At the polling unit inside the Kaduna State Government House, though Atiku Abubakar of the PDP won the contest, Tinubu came third in the state governed by Nasir el-Rufai of the APC.
The result signed by the presiding officer, Kalu kelechi Micheal, showed that the APC scored 40, the Labour Party scored 48, PDP 69, while NNPP had 11.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna is one of the lead campaigners of Tinubu.
