THE Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), yesterday (6th April 2023) arraigned Idris Ibrahim before Justice B. Abubakar of an FCT High Court, Apo, Abuja on one count charge bordering on obtaining money by pretense.
The charge reads, “that you Idris Ibrahim sometime in 2020 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court by the pretense that you had secured a contract with the Supreme Court of Nigeria for the supply of 3 Toyota Hilux vehicles, and with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of Forty-Four Million Naira (N44,000,000) for yourself, from Sanni Shuaibu and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act”.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge
Justice Abubakar remanded the defendant and adjourned till 10th May 2023 for the commencement of trial.
