SHEHU SANI, a former member of the National Assembly who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has reacted to news of President Vladimir Putin fleeing Moscow as Wagner troops advance rapid onslaught.
It was reported that President Putin has left Moscow as Wagner paramilitary fighters intensified their onslaught across Russia to seize control of the country.
While reacting to this report, the outspoken activist, Shehu Sani took to his verified Twitter page to say he didn’t think having one dominant power in the world was right.
Shehu Sani highlighted that Russia has helped Africa in its years of struggle for independence and Ukraine was also part of the Soviet Union that stood with Africa.
Shehu Sani condemns the invasion of Ukraine by President Putin. He said no sane person will support the shooting of missiles into civilian areas in the name of war.
However, Shehu Sani expresses his gladness to hear that Wagner has halted its advance towards Moscow. He said the leader should not be apprehended because it’s a lesson.
On that note, Shehu Sani made it known in his statement by saying President Putin should end the war by withdrawing Russian troops to the internationally recognized borders.
In his tweet, Shehu Sani wrote below:
“I love Russia and I don’t think having one dominant power in the world is right. Russia has helped Africa in our years of struggle for independence and we remain grateful. We must also not forget that Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union that stood by us. The invasion of Ukraine by Putin is wrong and a disaster for Putin and his country. No sane human being will support the firing of missiles into civilian areas in the name of war. I’m also glad to hear that Wagner has halted its advance toward Moscow. The leader of Wagner shouldn’t be arrested for this gesture. This should be a lesson.
“Putin should end this war by withdrawing Russian troops to the internationally recognized borders. The West surreptitious strategy to swallow and destroy Russia must also stop. Let there be peace.”
