AS Muslim Ummah celebrate Eid-el-Adha, the Ag. Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has extended his warmest wishes to all Nigerians, stating that this joyous occasion is a pointer to the values of sacrifice, compassion and unity.
The Ag. CGC also enjoins all Nigerians to embrace the life of service exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He urges them to imbibe the values of sacrifice and duty that is necessary to build the nation of our dream.
“I wish to advise that we come together, united as one, to celebrate the spirit of Eid-el-Adha by sharing the joyous moments with our loved ones and taking time to appreciate the blessings we have been granted,” he explained.
He urged all officers and men to use this season for reflection on the sacred responsibilities which God has placed on them to serve as catalysts in Nigerian economic growth and development. He admonished them to demonstrate the importance of compassion and generosity, not only towards their immediate family and friends but also to those in need.
A statement endorsed by Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Abdullahi Maiwada, National Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Customs Service quotes the Acting CGC as reiterating his commitment to implementing pragmatic steps that will shape a brighter future predicated on the safety, security and economic stability of our dear nation. “Amidst the demands of such duties, the CGC harps on the need to reflect on the significance of this festive season.”
While pledging for better service delivery on behalf of his management team and the entire workforce of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Ag. CGC prayed that the auspicious occasion will be an Eid that will illuminate hearts to the path of righteousness.
