POPULAR preacher and founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has been hospitalised due to an undisclosed illness.
The cleric on Thursday shared a photo of himself on a hospital bed, accompanied by a plea for prayers on his Facebook page, even as he called for prayers.
The post, captioned “Please, pray for me,” quickly garnered attention from his followers, who flooded the comment section with well wishes and prayers for his swift recovery.
Apostle Chibuzor, widely recognised for his philanthropic endeavours, has recently been in the headlines regarding allegations of abandoning some of his beneficiaries, including those on scholarships abroad.
Apostle Chibuzor increased his stock of followership in June last year when he offered to relocate and settle the family member of Dobrah Samuel, the 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto who was murdered by her classmates over an allegation of blasphemy Prophet Muhammed, from Niger State to Port Harcourt in Rivers State.
The case of two former security guards, known as the Happi Boys, who were on an OPM scholarship to Cyprus, has however gained significant traction on social media as they accused the clergyman of neglect.
In response to the allegations, Apostle Chibuzor denied them, clarifying that the Happi Boys were advised to relocate to either Nigeria or the Republic of Benin to continue their education.
