KEBBI STATE government has reiterated its commitment to supporting all tertiary education across the state.
This was disclosed by the state government delegation led by the Chief of Staff to the state governor, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, who undertook an official tour of the University of Science and Technology, Aliero.
Barrister Maccido explained that the present administration “is ready to support the university to ensure that it produces sound, qualitative and employable graduates.”

He commended the efforts of the management for establishing some departments such as the School of Medicine, and Environmental Studies, among others.
“We are in the university to interact with the management, see things for ourselves and to have first-hand information about the institution with a view to providing the needs of the university,” he assured.
Earlier, the vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Ladan Aliero, who expressed appreciation for the visit, also briefed the delegation about the history, important issues, achievements recorded as well as urgent needs of the school requiring the government’s attention.
He thanked the Kebbi State governor and the delegation for their concern and commitment towards supporting the institution for greater productivity.
The delegation included the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Alhaji Abdulmumin Abdullah i and Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Garba Hamisu.
The delegation was received on arrival by the school’s vice-chancellor alongside management staff members and some high-ranking officers of the university as well as the institution’s student union leaders.
The chapter chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr Yale and his counterpart on the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Nura Kindi respectively expressed satisfaction with the visit.
The vice-chancellor led the delegation on a tour of some key places in the university, including; the university library, College of Health Sciences, Molecular Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, students’ hostels and sports complex, workshop centre of the Faculty of Engineering, convocation arena and university’s waterworks.
