THE Federal Fire Service has sought enhanced collaboration and synergy with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Commander, Makurdi Zonal Command of the EFCC on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, the Zonal Controller, Federal Fire Service Zone A, Makurdi, Comptroller of Fire (CF) I. A Kurutsi, stated that there was a need to strengthen the existing relationship between the EFCC and FFS, noting that both agencies have come a long way in collaborative efforts for the good of the country.
“The relationship between our organisations has come a long way, so when I resumed office here, I felt this was an opportunity to familiarise myself with you and further strengthen the existing cordial relationship between the two agencies”
The FFS Comptroller used the opportunity to invite the Commission to be a part of the ‘Fire Week Awareness’ in the state which, he said, was meant to educate people on what to do in the event of a fire outbreak.
The Zonal Commander, ACE1 Friday Ebelo, in his response, thanked Comptroller Kurutsi for the visit, stating that being safety conscious prevents a lot of mishaps and officers can only discharge their duties when they are alive and safe.
“Safety is very vital and everyone has to keep everybody safe, we have to be able to discharge our duties” he stated.
The Zonal Commander acknowledged that the Commission and the Federal Fire Service have enjoyed a robust relationship and pledged to do his part to keep it going.
