A marketing officer with the Ikorodu branch of Globus Bank, Amarachi Ugochukwu, 32, has reportedly committed suicide right inside the bank’s staff toilet.
A police report sighted by our correspondent indicates that the incident occurred on Monday 8th January 2024 at about 13 hours.
According to the report, Amarachi left her phone on her table. The phone kept ringing without an answer. This led her colleagues to start looking for her. In the course of searching for her, one of the office staff toilets was noticed to have been locked from behind and was subsequently forced open. Behold, her motionless body with an empty middle-size can of a popular insecticide (name withheld by us) suspected to have been taken by her was found by her side.
Also found by her side was a diary where she wrote that nothing was working in her life, that the economy was getting harder and that her brain was clogged. The branch manager of the bank, Robert Hosharma, who reported the incident to the police, was said to have immediately invited a medical doctor who confirmed Amarachi dead.
Her body was said to have been deposited at the Ikorodu General Hospital for autopsy while police have commenced investigation.
