OPERATIVES of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) today prevented a middle-aged man from committing suicide by jumping in front of speeding vehicles on the LASU – Iyana Iba Expressway.
The incident reportedly occurred around 11: 25 a.m. today. With the assistance of passers-by, he was restrained.
The RRS operatives later located his family and he was thereafter handed over to them for maximum attention.
Meanwhile, the RRS at Bamgbose, Lagos Island, prevented the total breakdown of law and order as violence broke out between two groups over the death of a young man.
Several arrests have been made and the crisis de-escalated. Normalcy has returned to the area, a statement from the squad clarified.
“Joint teams of police operatives from divisions, Area Command and RRS are still on ground monitoring the situation”, the squad emphasized.
