CONFEDERATION of African Football (CAF) has activated a probe of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) following a post-match incident.
CAF says they will not make any further comment on this matter until the investigation is complete.
It was however gathered that a member of the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo was racially abused by Moroccan supporters on social media.
Atlas Lions of Morocco and the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo are in Group F of the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023. The group game involving the two countries was played on Sunday, 21st January 2024 and it ended in a 1-1 stalemate. The other countries in the group are Tanzania and Zambia
