THE abducted wife of the slain Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Olori Iyabo Aremu, and one other person have been released.
It was gathered that the victims were released on Monday night and arrived in Koro town around 10:45 pm.
According to Chief Ayobola Samuel, the Asiwaju of Koro, who broke the cheering news, the news just received from home confirms that Olori and the girl have been released and returned to Koro about 30 minutes ago.
It will be recalled that Oba Olusegun Aremu-Cole, Olukoro of Koro Kwara was assassinated by suspected kidnappers in his palace on Thursday night while his wife and another person were abducted.
The kidnappers, whom eyewitnesses described as Bororo Fulani, reportedly struck at about 9 pm, shooting sporadically in the air.
The gunshot sent people running for dear lives
The kidnappers, according to sources in the town, went straight to the palace where they met the royal father on the veranda preparing to take his dinner.
He was shot dead and his wife, a girl and another person were reportedly taken away by the kidnappers.
