In a veiled response to the tirade spun by the former governor of Lagos State and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said he is not an emperor.
Mr Tinubu, during a visit to Abeokuta yesterday in continuation of his campaign to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari after May 2023, said he assisted both President Buhari and Governor Abiodun to become president and governor, respectively.

Speaking in Yoruba, the national leader of the APC said deserved to succeed President Buhari in office having helped him to realise his ambition of becoming president even when he had lost hope.
He also took a swipe at Prince Abiodun as he referred to him as “eleyi” (this one). He said he fought battles to ensure that the governor won the election.
Meanwhile, in what could be described as a cryptic message, Governor Abiodun posted on his Facebook page thus: “I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance.
“I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.
