SUPER Eagles of Nigeria will be without Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen for their 2026 World Cup qualification matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic in June.
Though listed in the team to do battle against It Bafana Bafana of South Africa on 7 June in Uyo and the Squirrels of Benin Republic three days later, the reigning CAF Footballer of the Year will however miss the games due to Injury.
Victor Osimhen is injured and will be out for 4 weeks.
His absence is a huge blow to the team that is third in Group C behind leaders Rwanda and South Africa in the race to reach the 2026 World Cup finals to be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.
Benin Republic are bottom of the log with a point. Rwanda have four points, while Lesotho and Zimbabwe are on two points each just like Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles’ Coach Finidi George has called up Enugu Rangers’ left-back Kenneth Igboke for the qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.
