SOME irate youths, said to be residents of Yobe State, have reportedly destroyed billboards erected by the state government to welcome President Bola Tinubu to the state.
A video clip that captured the alleged incident has been making the rounds on social media since Sunday morning.
According to X microblogging users who posted the video, the incident occurred shortly after the Vice President, Kashim Shettima visited the state on Saturday.
Shettima was in Damaturu, the state capital on Saturday to launch the Yobe State Agricultural Empowerment programme.
Meanwhile, the state police command has discountenanced reports of the vandalisation. The Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim said there was nothing like that in the state.
“I saw that video too but I don’t think it is in Yobe. When Shettima visited, we conducted the programme peacefully and nothing happened.
“There was no single challenge. Nothing like that happened”, he noted.
