A leaked document has given out Bello El-Rufai as having lied about rejecting a posh Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) distributed to National Assembly members by its leadership.
A document (pictures) clearly shows the lawmaker confirming receipt of the vehicle.
The son of the former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who presently represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives had denied receiving the luxury vehicle from the National Assembly. In a previous media interview via a podcast about five months ago, the younger El-Rufai, who presently serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Banking Regulations, claimed to have declined one of the SUVs distributed to lawmakers at the start of the 10th Assembly, portraying himself as a public servant with the people’s interests at heart.
Bello also alleged that some of his colleagues had similarly rejected the vehicles. However, evidence has now revealed that El-Rufai did, in fact, receive one of the posh vehicles, contradicting his earlier statement and raising questions about his sincerity.
The document, dated 31 October 2023, shows that the younger El-Rufai indeed received a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado from the National Assembly’s transport division, House of Representatives. The vehicle’s details are as follows: Chassis Number TTEBX3FJ401C349213, grey in colour, and came with two keys.
This evidence directly contradicts El-Rufai’s earlier claim, exposing his dishonesty.
