NIGERIAN songwriter and singer, Divine Ikubor (professionally known as Rema) has donated the sum of 105 to Christ Embassy Church in Edo State following his Thanksgiving and homecoming concert.
The “Baby Calm Down” crooner returned to his hometown in Edo State to celebrate his musical journey as he performed his hit songs to entertain his audience.
The 24-year-old singer has been a landmark of success over the internet space and the globe.He shared how the church came through for his family when he lost his father. He revealed that the church opened a shop for his mother after the death of his father, just when the family really needed help.
In his words, “When I lost my dad eight years ago, everything was taken away from us. The Pastor of this church at that time (Highly Esteemed Rev Tom and Pastor Joy Amenkhienan) opened a small store for my mother to help take care of us. It was from that store that she sponsored us. Today, I’m big, and I’ve come to show my gratitude. I’ve decided to donate 105 million Naira to the church. It can be of help to other widows and other people who need it
“I pledge N40 million to the infrastructure of the church, N20 million to Rhapsodies of Realities, N25 million to teen church.
“When I lost my dad, we felt alone; the church opened a shop for my mum; if there is any widow, I am pledging N20 million”.
