The suspects, Usman Mohammed, Azeez Adeleke and Solomon Odiya were apprehended at about 8:45 pm on 19th June 2022.
They were said to have operated on Mobolaji Johnson in Ikeja and, while escaping, a distress call was put across to the detectives who went after them and successfully caught up with them.
In a press release issued by the Lagos State Police Spokesman (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had previously operated in the area a couple of times, snatching belongings of unsuspecting passers-by”.
Recovered from them, the statement added, were a Tecno mobile phone, one dagger and a cash sum of Five Thousand, Four Hundred Naira (N5,400) only.
According to him, the suspects would be arraigned in court after investigations.
The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, however, restated and assured Lagosians that the command would continue to do everything operationally possible to ensure the safety of life and property in the state.
