STAFF members of a topmost financial institution, First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Thursday projected and identified with 2021 Nigerian league champions Akwa United as part of activities to celebrate the bank’s 2024 customer service week in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The management of Akwa United Football Club received an invitation from the management of the FCMB Abak Road branch to participate in the customer service week programme.
The bank’s Account Relationship Manager, Mrs Kate Akpabio, explained that Customer Service Week is usually marked in October every year to celebrate bank customers in Nigeria or around the world for their patronage of the financial institution.
Mrs Akpabio revealed that the decision to identify with Akwa United Football Club was based on the team’s rich history, performance and success stories in the last few years.
“Akwa United Football Club is a big club in Nigeria and we decided to identify and invite the club to our customer service week programme because of the club’s achievements, success stories and rich history over the years. As you can see, today we decided as a branch to appear in Akwa United’s beautiful jersey as a mark of appreciation and support to the team.
“As a Nigeria-based financial institution, we believe it is important to support, identify and project a domestic club instead of foreign teams, and our own team here in Akwa Ibom State got the nod on this auspicious occasion of 2024 customer service week of our company as our worthy customers”.
Chairman of the club, Elder Paul Bassey, alongside the Secretary, Elder Omon Bassey, the Media Manager, Mr Mfon Patrick as well as the Camp Commandant, Elder Isreal Harry, adorned the club’s jersey on Thursday and joined the staff of the bank who were also dressed in Akwa United’s jerseys to celebrate the bank’s new and existing customers at the bank premise alone Abak Road in Uyo.
Elder Bassey commended the management of the bank branch for identifying and celebrating the team in its achievements and assured that the team will redouble its efforts in challenging on all fronts to ensure it brings glory and honour to her numerous fans and supporters, including staff of FCMB as well as the wonderful people of Akwa Ibom State.
