EDO Queens’ hope of returning to Nigeria with a bronze medal at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League has been dashed.
Edo Queens were beaten 4-3 on penalties by FC Masar of Egypt during the third-place game decided on Friday.
After 90 minutes, both teams could not find the winning goal but the dreaded penalty kicks had to decide the winner.
Edo Queens missed the first and last spot kick to hand the bronze medal to the Egyptians who missed their fourth spot kick to win 4-3.
On Saturday (today) AS FAR of Morocco will take on TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final.
