THE Solid Miners endured a slim 1-0 defeat at the hands of their hosts, Katsina United, in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match-day 19 clash at the Muhammad Dikko’s Stadium, Katsina, on Sunday evening.
Both sides created an avalanche of goal-scoring opportunities, but it was the hosts who ultimately emerged victorious.
The visitors dominated possession for large periods of the game, with striker, Qamar Adegoke, winger, Abubakar Garba, and centre back, Manga Mohammed, all missing close calls on goal. However, despite the trio’s best efforts, Nasarawa United were unable to find the back of the net.
In a cruel twist of fate, Katsina United’s danger man, Azeez Falolu, tapped in a rebound shot from a free-kick in the 73rd minute to give the home side a late lead.
Katsina United jealously guarded the narrow scoreline up until the regulation time.
The defeat saw the Solid Miners drop to the bottom of the league table even though with a game at hand, while Katsina United moved up to 13th position with a game more.
Despite the setback, Technical Director, Kabir Dogo, remained optimistic, praising his team’s performance and vowing to bounce back in the next game.
