Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, fought back from two goals down to hold Rangers International of Enugu to a 2-2 draw, thus keeping alive their hope of surviving the drop.
The matchday 36 encounters decided Saturday evening at the Awka City Stadium, saw the two sides battled to a goalless first half.
With a continental ticket as their target, the Flying Antelopes took the game to the Oluyole Warriors from the start of the second half and they got rewarded with a 46th-minute goal through Shedrack Asiegbu.
The homers doubled their lead nine minutes later through Chidiebere Nwobodo but the visitors turned it around in the last 17 minutes of the game to ensure the spoils were shared.
Substitute, Omoduemuke Moses emerged the hero for the Ibadan soccer lords, reducing the tally in the 73rd minute before grabbing an all-important leveller for the visitors two minutes from time.
The result leaves 3SC with 45 points from 36 matches and the team will next Sunday, play host to league winners, Rivers United in a matchday 37 fixture before making the trip to Kano for the season’s last match against Kano Pillars.
