FORMER military president, General Ibrahim Babangida (retd.), Thursday raked in nearly N17 billion from his book, ‘A Journey in Service’.
The book, which is an autobiography, was unveiled in Abuja.
The self-styled evil genius received nearly N17 billion in donations mainly from Nigeria’s business elite.
Aliko Dangote led the contributions with an N8 billion pledge, broken down into N2 billion per year for four years.
Another billionaire, Abdulsamad Rabiu launched the book with N5 billion.
Other notable figures also contributed.
Folorunsho Alakija and a few others also made donations but did not disclose the amount publicly.
A major highlight of the book is the admittance by IBB that the late Chief MKO Abiola won the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
He described its annulment as the most difficult decision of his life.
