THE Jamaican government has requested 400 Nigerian experts in various fields to strengthen its workforce and support human development efforts as part of the Nigerian government’s Technical Aid Corps (TAC) scheme.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Dr Yusuf Buba Yakub disclosed this during a courtesy visit to his office by the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mallam Jibril Baba Ndace, and the VON management team.
Dr Yakub said the request from Jamaica was sequel to the successes recorded by the Nigerian experts who had participated in the technical aid corps scheme in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific regions.
The current Jamaican request would be paid for by the home government at an agreed fee.
This would represent a quantum leap in the legal migration of qualified Nigerian young professionals and a quick solution to the illegal migration crisis.
