AFTER a long injury layoff, Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has made a triumphant return to action.
The Udinese shot-stopper, who had been sidelined since December due to a wrist injury that required surgery, played the full 90 minutes in his team’s 1-1 draw against Lazio.
Okoye’s performance was impressive, showcasing his resilience and talent with four crucial saves.
His return to fitness is a huge boost for Udinese and, importantly, for Nigeria’s national team.
He’s been included in the 39-man provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
With his experience and proven ability, Okoye is sure to be a key player for the Super Eagles as they aim to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
