THE nine surveyors who were abducted last week at a site in Ilu-Abo, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, have been released.
Sources indicate that a ransom of ₦20 million was paid to secure their freedom. Pastor Ajibade Owolanke, a brother to the Ejemikin of Akure, High Chief Oluwole Omotayo, confirmed the release.
According to Owolanke, the surveyors were freed on Tuesday night and have since been returned to Akure, the state capital.
