LYDIA Mugambe is a Supreme Court judge in Uganda.
She is also a United Nations (UN) judge.
She is a very highly qualified lawyer and currently studying towards a PhD in Law at the University of Oxford, England, United Kingdom.
But all those credentials matter less in the United Kingdom when you go against the law.
Thus Lydia Mugambe has been sentenced to prison for bringing her house maid from Uganda to the UK to work for her (for free).
Everyone that works in the UK must be paid at least the minimum wage (of about £12.50 per hour or about N25,000.00 naira per hour).
If you don’t pay your workers, it is considered as modern slavery punishable under the law.
