The Director-General of the National Youth Corps Service (NYSC), Brigadier-General Mohammed Fadah has solicited the support of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for the upgrading of facilities at the NYSC FCT Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja.
General Fadah requested a courtesy visit to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd).
According to the DG, the visit was to further cement the existing cordial relationship between the NYSC and the Nigeria Customs Service. He commended the Customs Service for its conscientious efforts in revenue generation for the federal government.
Welcoming the Director-General and his management team with uttermost happiness, Col. Ali hailed the NYSC for grooming graduate youths of the country into leadership positions and being self-reliant.
Col Ali also disclosed that Customs operatives would soon be deployed to the NYSC orientation camps across the country to sensitise corps members on the dangers of smuggling.
“Anti-smuggling message would be more beneficial to the country if it is passed to the grassroots through the corps members.” Hameed Ali reiterated.
The CGC also commended the good conduct of the corps members, serving at the NCS headquarters, describing them as ” worthy of emulation”
He assured the NYSC of the resolve of the Nigeria Customs Service in continuous working collaboration for the betterment of the nation.
