THE management of the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, (ABUAD) says its attention has been drawn to a false and malicious social media publication alleging the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) chairman, Mrs. Dotun Olaitan of involvement in the theft of a decorative flower vase at the university’s hotel in Ado Ekiti.
The management of the academic institutions confirmed that the five-man team led by Mrs Dotun Olaitan was accommodated at the five-star hotel from the 5th to the 6th of September during a trip that featured a facility tour of ABUAD and a special interview session with the revered legal luminary and university proprietor, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN).
A statement signed by the Corporate Affairs Manager of the institution, Mr Tunde Olofintila, stated categorically that on 7 September 2024, the five-man team checked out of the university hotel facility, devoid of any accusation of any missing flower vase.
The statement added that false news about a missing flower vase, therefore, came as a shock.
According to Mr. Olofintila, the hotel management confirmed and affirmed that all the flower vases in the hotel remain intact while no guest, including Mrs. Dotun Olaitan was ever confronted with any allegation about a stolen flower vase.
The hotel management described the story as a figment of the imagination of the author.
