A gospel singer Oluwatimileyin Ajayi has been arrested by police for allegedly beheading his girlfriend in Agwan Sarki Orozo, Nasarawa State, near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with the severed head of his girlfriend in a polythene bag.
According to reports, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi’s arrest was facilitated by an intelligence tip-off, leading security agents to an uncompleted building in the area.
Confirming his arrest, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh said the gospel singer was not nabbed in Abuja as widely claimed.
According to Adeh, the singer was arrested in Nasarawa which has boundaries with the FCT.
She said, “To clarify, the incident above did not occur in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) but in Nasarawa State. We kindly urge everyone to ensure accuracy in such reports for better public understanding.”
During questioning, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi allegedly confessed to the crime and revealed that the rest of the victim’s body, identified as Salome Eleojo Adaidu, an Igala lady, who graduated from the Department of Library and Information Sciences in Kogi State University Anyigba in 2023, was at his residence.
The Secretary of Orozo Community, Comrade Abwami Nuhuson Daniel, confirmed the incident on his Facebook page.
He wrote, “I got the shock of my life as we apprehend a ‘Yahoo’ ritual with a human head (his girlfriend) inside a nylon in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, FCT.
“I thought I just used to watch things like this until I experienced one ‘live’ today. In my community.
“And this guy said the remaining body of the girl is still in his house.
“God have mercy on this generation.”

Meanwhile, the family members of the hapless lady have discountenanced claim by Oluwatimileyin Ajay that Salome Eleojo Adaidu was his girlfriend, noting that she merely boarded a wrong Keke NAPEP.
“All the major news outlets are reporting that the lady beheaded in Abuja by Oluwatimileyin Ajayi from Kabba, Kogi State, a popular Gospel Artist, was the victim’s boyfriend. She was not. She entered the wrong keke and was abducted by him and his cohorts and murdered in the most brutal manner. Timileyin Ajayi lied and claimed she was his girlfriend and it is not true”, a member of the family stated.
