“RESPECT Davido’s point of view too. The Adeleke’s can feed themselves for life, but he knows many Nigerians cannot right now” .
These were the words of veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, who weighed in on varied reactions trailing David Adeleke (professionally known as Davido)’s appearance on ‘The Big Homies House’ podcast in the US, where he highlighted some of Nigeria’s many challenges.
Davido’s remarks, which didn’t sit well with some Nigerians, have continued to be a subject of criticism, with some demanding an apology from him.
Kanayo O Kanayo, in a recent video shared on Instagram, defended Davido.
In his words:
“Make una leave Davido alone over the comments he made. It is freedom of speech and he made the statement in good faith. It is left for those in power to work harder to give us a better Nigeria.
“Some people say he should apologize, apologize for what? Those who criticize us only want us to do better. Davido speaks for millions of Nigerians who cannot feed right now”.
