A 20-year-old Nigerian woman has taken to social media to express her despair over her inability to bear children.
The married woman, who remains unidentified, shared a video online in which she tearfully narrated her story.
According to her, she had been informed by medical doctors that she could never have children of her own due to her past reckless actions.
The young woman revealed that she had terminated 35 pregnancies in the past, which had caused severe damage to her womb.
She added that her inability to conceive was causing a significant problem in her marriage, and her only option now was to end the union since she could not give her husband children.
”I aborted 35 kids at the age of 20, now I am married and the doctor said I can’t give birth again. Now I have to get a divorce,” she wrote while sharing the video.
The video has since gone viral, sparking a conversation about the dangers of unsafe abortions and the need for proper sex education.
Netizens have taken to social media to express their sympathy for the young woman’s plight and to call for better access to family planning and reproductive health services.
It is essential to note that abortion is illegal in Nigeria except in cases where the life of the mother is at risk. However, many women still seek unsafe abortions, which often result in severe health complications or even death.
