THE All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has dissolved the Rivers State Executives of the party at all levels.
Briefing journalists yesterday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced the NWC’s decision to appoint a seven-member Caretaker Committee to steer the party’s affairs in the state for the next six months. The caretaker committee has Tony Okocha as Chairman and Eric Nwibani as Secretary.
Others are; Chibuike Ikenga, Stephen Abolo, Silvester Vidin, Karibi Dan-Jumbo, and Darling Amadi. Mr Morka, who read out the party’s decision signed by the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; and Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, disclosed that the Caretaker Committee is mandated to conduct a comprehensive and fresh electronic party registration of all members in the state. He said the Caretaker Committee will be inaugurated on Friday, 24 November, at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja.
Reacting to this, the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Darlington Nwauju, said the State Working Committee is studying the statement issued by Felix Morka because an elected executive cannot be dissolved on the pages of newspapers or television sets.
