(BREAKING): Court Refuses To Remove Cross River Gov, Deputy For Defecting To APC
Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, refused to remove the Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, and his deputy, Professor Ivara Esu, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The judge held that the removal of a sitting governor and his deputy can only be in line with constitutional provisions, noting that the judiciary lacks the power to remove an elected officer.
