PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of 19 persons for the position of commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).
Reading out the names earlier yesterday 12 December 2023 during plenary, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, said the president is seeking the upper chamber’s confirmation of the nominees.
The nominees are;

- Clifford Zirra (Adamawa)
- Chidi Ezeoke (Anambra)
- Isa Buratai (Borno)
- Alex Ukam (Cross River)
- Blessyn Brume-Ataguba (Delta)
- Jeremiah Nwankwegu (Ebonyi)
- Tony Aiyejina (Edo)
- Ejike Ezeh (Enugu)
- Abubakar Damburam (Gombe)
- Uba Nnabue (Imo)
- Dogon Garba (Kaduna)
- Aminu Tsanyawa (Kano)
- Yori Afolabi (Kogi)
- Olakunle Sobukola (Ogun)
- Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Ondo)
- Mary Afan (Plateau)
- Ogiri Henry (Rivers
- Saany Sale (Taraba)
Also, President Tinubu further requested that the red chamber approve the nominations of Babajide Fasina (South-West), Enorense Amadasu (South-South), and Bashir Indabawa (North-West) as NPC commissioners.
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) was given two weeks to provide a report on the nomination by the Senate, which was chaired by Senator Godswill Akpabio.
