THE aphorism ‘every day for a thief, one day for the owner’ aptly captures a scenario at an Agbara, Ogun State-based company as a member of a robbery syndicate in the process of carting away items worth millions of naira stolen from the company was nabbed while in the process.
The suspected robbers were sighted by operatives of the Agbara Divisional Command of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe) in the early hours of 16 January while scaling the fence of WASCO Cable Company on Hayat Road, Agbara.
The state Commander of So-Safe Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, stated in a release issued by the Corps Public Relations Officer (PRO), AC Moruf Yusuf, that the officers were on a special duty along Hayat by New Dawn Garden, OPIC Estate, Agbara in the Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government Area of the state when they noticed the strange development at about 3:05 am.
While other members of the gang escaped, Titus Joshua was not that lucky and was apprehended with heavy-duty batteries worth N190,000, LT cables worth N20 million and a hacksaw, an instrument used by the syndicate to cut metals.
Joshua, according to the Corps Commander, has been handed over to the Agbara Police Division with all the exhibits, for further investigation and prosecution.
