WEST LONDON giants Chelsea have reached an agreement with fellow Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion to sign goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
The Blues have been searching for a new shot-stopper to provide cover and competition to current number one Kepa Arrizabalaga, following the sale of Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli this summer.
Sanchez quickly emerged as Chelsea’s top target for the position and a deal worth around £25m including add-ons has now been agreed with the Seagulls.
Chelsea have agreed fee of around £20m fixed for Robert Sánchez — it includes add-ons up to £25m package.
Long-term deal verbally agreed with Sánchez who always wanted to join Chelsea FC.
Sanchez who made 23 appearances for Brighton in the Premier League last season, will undergo a medical at Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
The Spain international will become Mauricio Pochettino’s fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Lesley Ugochukwu and Angelo Gabriel.
