THE President of Lions International Club, Women Wing, Oyo State chapter and President, Hairdresser Association of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, Chief (Mrs) Oluwatoyin Oladapo was at the weekend conferred with the traditional title of Asiwaju Iyalode of Ekotedo by the Baale of Ekotedo, Elder (Dr) Taiye Ayorinde.

The event, which took place on Friday 21st of July, 2023 at Baale Ayorinde’s palace situated on Ayorinde Street in the Ekotedo area of Ibadan, attracted a huge number of Ekotedo residents, chiefs and prominent personalities.
Also in attendance were the members of Oladapo’s family. and some dignitaries from Oyo State government Among them was Hon. Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, whose presence was greeted with an ovation, despite his humble entry into the venue.
In her remarks, the newly installed Asiwaju Iyalode of Ekotedo, Chief (Mrs) Oluwatoyin Oladapo, expressed her profound gratitude to the Baale of Ekotedo, Elder (Dr) Taiye Ayorinde, who is also the Chairman of all Traditional Baales in Ibadanland and Chairman Yoruba World Assembly, and people of Ekotedo in general for finding her worthy of the coveted title even as she promised to redouble effort towards the advancement of Ekotedo community, particularly in the areas of entrepreneurship and care of the elderly.
On his part, Mr Oladapo, who is the husband of Chief Olawatoyin thanked the people of Ekotedo and Baale of Ekotedo for the conferment of the onerous title on his wife. He promised to support her in cash and kind

In his speech, Elder Ayorinde said, “The decision to confer the traditional title on Mrs Oladapo was reached following rigorous exploration into her background, and also her contribution to the Ekotedo community.”
According to the traditional ruler, her father, of blessed memory, was the best-known Mercedes vehicle repairer in Western Region.
His workshop was on Ayorinde Street just three doors away from Baale Ayorinde’s place
Chief Adegbuyi was one of those who joined other Ekotedo Elders to put Elder Dr Taiye Ayorinde forward to become the Baale of Ekotedo
Other qualities in the new Asiwaju iyalode have to do with her performances as the President of the Women’s Wing of the Lions International Club Oyo State chapter.
Other qualities that obviously stood her out are her interest in uplifting and working for the betterment of the people, a quality akin to her late father. She was equally found a worthy and thoroughbred Yoruba daughter who is said to be culturally inclined to wear the toga of the Yoruba traditional title because of her oriented values to promote the culture and values of Ekotedo and Yoruba land at large.
Chief Mrs Oluwatoyin Oladapo is happily married and the marriage is blessed with children, among whom are very brilliant twins
