AMIDST the sharp increase in the price of fuel, there has been a progressive drop in the price of cooking gas.
Checks during the weekend revealed that the average price of cooking gas has declined by about ninety percent.
A 12kg cylinder which sold for between Nine Thousand Two Hundred Naira and Thirteen Thousand One Hundred Naira in May, now sells for between Six Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty Naira and Six Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira within Lagos and neighbouring Ogun State.
A six kilograms measurement currently sells for Three Thousand One Hundred and Seventy-Five Naira, meaning that a kilogram sells for Five Hundred and Thirty Naira as against Eight Hundred Naira.
Also, Prince Ekene confirmed the drop in price in Onitsha, Anambra State on Facebook, saying that a kilogram sells for Five Hundred and Forty Naira on Saturday.
However, another Facebook user Christian Chiamaka Jennifer said that the price is yet to drop in Port Harcourt, as she bought 12kg for Ten Thousand Naira on Saturday.
