JUSTICE Ramon A. Oshodi of a Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos earlier today (Monday, 3rd April 2023, admitted in evidence more documents tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Kolawole Adedayo Erinle, alongside his firm, Rinde-Remdex Nigeria Limited.
Erinle and his company are standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, retention of proceeds of criminal conduct, and obtaining money under false pretence to the tune of One Million, Four Hundred and Ten Thousand United States Dollars ($1,410,000) only
They were previously arraigned on 11th March 2022. before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of a Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
However, the trial could not commence before the retirement of Justice Taiwo, thereby prompting the re-assignment of the case to Justice Oshodi.
Subsequently, the case began de novo on 28th October 2022
The defendant is alleged to have defrauded the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB) in the United States of about USD 1,412,509.
He, again, pleaded “not guilty” to the charges when he was arraigned before Justice Oshodi.
