MUSIC superstar David Adeleke (professionally known as Davido) has now reacted to his colleague in the industry Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (also known as Wizkid).
The latest in the long-standing rivalry erupted after Davido teased a snippet of his upcoming single for 2024.
Coincidentally, Wizkid had also been set to release the first track of his much-anticipated “Morayo” album.
Tensions escalated when Davido’s associate, Kayode Yajaur, known as Black Tycoone, seemingly mocked Wizkid over the delay in his album release, tweeting, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.”
Wizkid, unfazed by the comment, took to X (formerly Twitter) to throw shade at Davido’s camp, writing, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” followed by, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!”
While he did not mention Davido by name, fans were quick to interpret the post as a jab at the ‘Fem’ singer.
In defence of Davido, one fan accused Wizkid of using the rivalry to stir up attention, tweeting, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?”
Wizkid responded swiftly, denying that he was clout-chasing while attacking Davido’s talent. “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!” he fired back.
Wizkid continued the tirade, dismissing Davido’s body of work as “trash” and bragging about his own superior musical output. “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!” he added.
Despite the harsh words, Davido, until now, maintained a stoic silence, choosing not to engage publicly in the ongoing feud.
However, the Osun State-born music appears to have realised that silence was no longer golden. He has this to say.
“I didn’t respond to all the sh0ts thrown at me because; YOU DO NOT WEAR WHITE TO FIGHT A MECHANIC” -Davido
“Listen up, I told you some time ago on the Ebuka podcast.
“I am David Adeleke, I am the p00rest in my family of billionaires in Dollars!
“If I leave music today, I would still be rich because I can apply for jobs in any of my family businesses.
“I do not come from the trenches but it’s a passion in me to connect with the trenches!
“The world needs love, I am here on earth to share love ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️
