A yet-to-be-identified operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly taken his own life at his residence in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The officer who is said to be a member of Course 5, was described by colleagues as diligent, efficient, and unassuming.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, has been confirmed by the agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, who stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the reasons behind the operative’s decision to end his life.
Sources within the Commission revealed that the deceased had been experiencing issues with his immediate superior, for some time.
However, it is unclear if these issues are directly responsible for his decision to end it all.
