Ex-Customs DCG, Sanusi, Dies Two Years After Retirement From Service

A retired officer of the Nigeria Customs Service has finally succumbed to death after battling a prolonged illness.

According to a source from the family, the Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Umar Sanusi died in the early hours of Sunday, 26th March 2023.

The deceased, DCG Sanusi died at a private hospital in Abuja and has been buried on Sunday in Abuja according to Islamic rites. 

The late DCG Sanusi was born on 31st December 1960. He joined the public service on the 27th of July, 1985.

He earlier served as ACG Headquarters, Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘C’, and Customs Area Controller Kano/Jigawa, among many other Customs formations. 

He retired from the  Service in 2020 as Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resource Development.

He was also a Member/Fellow of the Security Institute and Alumni of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (mni).

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), and his management team commiserated with his entire family and prayed that the almighty God repose his gentle soul.
