NIGERIA’S voyage at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic has ended.
The journey was terminated in the quarter-final stage on Saturday by the United States of America.
A goal in each half was enough to send the West African teenagers out of the competition after a brilliant showing in the group stage.
Before Saturday’s defeat, Nigeria had conceded only one goal in their 4-1 pounding of hapless New Zealand on Match Day 1.
They went ahead to hit Ecuador 4-0 before they pipped the host, the Dominican Republic, in front of a record match attention in the history of that country. 13,535 fans watched the game which ended 1-0 in favour of Nigeria.
