Less than two months after two ex-convicts regained their freedom from the Ikoyi Correctional Centre in Lagos, they may just be on their way back no thanks to their involvement in another criminal act.
The two male ex-convicts, Abiodun Nurudeen (36) and Anthony Richard (45) were released on the 5th of May, 2022 and the 4th of June 2022 respectively, only to be involved in an alleged case of car snatching.
Eighteen-Eleven Media gathered that the two were intercepted on Egbeda Road in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State with a 2000 model Toyota Corolla car, marked LND-664-GF, alleged to have been snatched at the Lekki axis of the state.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, they were arrested on Sunday, 24th July 2022, at about 1:30 am.
The PPRO stated that, though investigation into the case was ongoing, he urged the vehicle owner to come forward with proof of ownership to claim his/her vehicle, adding that the suspects would be arraigned after investigation.
Hundeyin further stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has assured Lagosians of the Command’s continued commitment to do everything operationally possible to ensure the safety and security of lives and properties of all residents of the state.
