… Faction Declares Seats Of Defected 27 Members Vacant

RIVERS State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has attended the plenary of a faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly to present the 2024 appropriation bill of the state.
The governor arrived at the plenary of the Assembly under the Speakership of Edison Ehie, around 9:00 am and he was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu, Commissioner for Information and Communications Joseph Johnson, and other members of his cabinet.
The State Executive Council had in its 5th sitting, Monday, approved the estimated budget of over Eight Hundred Billion Naira (N800,000,000,000.00) christened, ‘Budget of Renewed Hope, Consolidation and Continuity for 2024 Fiscal Year’.
Meanwhile, the seats of the twenty-seven (27) Rivers State lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been declared vacant by the new Edison Ehie-led faction of the House Assembly. It will be recalled that Edison Ehie was confirmed Speaker Tuesday by a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
Hon. Adolphus Timothy Orubienimigha, member representing Opobo/Nkoro State Constituency, has been elected as the new Leader of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly at its sitting this morning at the temporary Assembly complex in Government House, Port Harcourt.
