THE police in Canada have cleared Ms Amaka Patience Sunnberger over her alleged threat to poison Yorubas and Binis.
The police, after hearing from the Canada-based Nigerian woman, requested the Nigerian government to go and resolve the ethnic and inter-tribal issues through peaceful means.
Ms Amaka Sunnberger reportedly explained to Toronto Police that she was only responding to video attacks and threats on Igbos on social media. Through her evidence, it became clear that those who wanted to crucify her edited the video by cutting off the section of the video conversation where her traducers were threatening Igbo lives and properties.
She denied being arrested and detained and clarified that she was only invited by the Toronto Police to present her side of the story after they received reports from the Nigerian government and some individuals over her controversial diatribes against the Binis and Yorubas.
According to Ms Sunnberger, she was not charged with any crime. She added that during her interaction with Canadian authorities, she presented video evidence demonstrating that her actions were in response to threats against the Igbo nation in Nigeria from some people of Benin and Yoruba descent. After reviewing the evidence, the police concluded that she had no further questions to answer and allowed her to leave.
At the same time, the Canadian government used the opportunity to call on the Nigerian government to address its internal tribal issues through peaceful and amicable solutions.
